Marion Ethel (Pirtle) Ramsey

Marion Ethel Ramsey, of Healdton, Oklahoma, was born, Friday, June 10, 1955 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Wilburn Donald and Mary Josephine Gallagher Pirtle.  She died Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Healdton, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years and 9 days.

Marion worked hard most of her life.  She had worked in food service as a cook and in the medical field as a CNA (Certified Nurse’s Assistant).  She married Randy Ramsey on February 14, 1971 at the Springdale Baptist Church in Carter County, Oklahoma and they just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Marion thrived spoiling her grandchildren and great-grand grandchildren.  She spent time playing Facebook games and watching old movies.  According to her family she was the absolute best momma and the strongest women that any child could ask for, and she raised plenty!

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn Donald Pirtle and Mary Josephine Gallagher Pirtle and brothers Don Pirtle and Leo Davis.  She is survived by her loving husband, Randy of the home; children, Michael Dale Ramsey and his wife Brenda, Tim Ramsey, Sheri Jean Salazar and her husband Tommy, and a bonus daughter Kariann Hess; grandchildren, Jarad Ramsey, Ashleigh Blanton and her husband Keith, Brittney Brown and her husband Tyler, Kristin Salazar, Austin Salazar and his wife Sydney, Izaiah Salazar, Zoe Ramsey, Morgan Ramsey, Gabriel  Ramsey, John Murray, Howard Murray, William Conway,  Devin Conway, McKala Ramsey, Shane & Julie Robinson; great-grandchildren, Layne, Alexis, Shaylie, Brilea, Haizlee, Hunter, Oaklynn, Lydia, Aspen, Aleigha, Xavier, Ashton, LeeAnn, Faithlynn and River; brothers, Andrew Davis of Sherman, Texas, Jimmy Pirtle of Jal, New Mexico, Johnny Pirtle of Roswell, New Mexico; sisters, Delina Fletcher of Dix, Illinois and Pauline Keys of Lovington, New Mexico.

A visitation will be held Thursday evening, June 24, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Laurel Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 25, 2021, in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel, with cremation to follow per Marion’s wishes.
