Jerry "Bob" Ratcliffe

Graveside services for Jerry “Bob” Ratcliffe will be at 10:00 am Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Healdton with Chaplain Matt Benedick, Cross Timbers Hospice, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  Services are under the direction of Laurel Funeral Home.

Bob was born, Saturday, November 22, 1952 in Enid, Oklahoma to James Heald and Bernice Jerry Sims Ratcliffe and died Sunday, July 28, 2019, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 6 days.  Bob was a 1971 graduate of Healdton High School.  Bob moved to Healdton from Frankfurt, Germany during high school.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Korea.  During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and was a Rifle Sharpshooter. Bob had worked at Tinker Air Force Base for many years fabricating packaging.  He was very proud of his family heritage as Healdton was named after his great-grandfather, Charles Hobart Heald.  Bob was an avid sports fan enjoying the St. Louis Cardinals, Oklahoma City Thunder and his beloved OU Sooners football team, of which he never missed a game! He spent time researching family history and was known to tell a great story or two!  Bob was a loyal and honest friend and loved spending time with his friends and cooking.  He knew everybody and they knew him!

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William James Ratcliffe and Gary Bruce Ratcliffe; sister, Judy Marjean Butler. He is survived by a son, Joshua Bruce Wasel-Ratcliffe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Charla Miller of Trona, California; brother, Terry Don “Buddy” Ratcliffe of Farmers Branch, Texas; sister, Royena Jones of Duncan, Oklahoma; nieces, Jessica Miller of Healdton, Oklahoma and Roylene White of Duncan, Oklahoma.
