George James Mechler

George James Mechler was born Friday, April 19, 1929 in Castroville, Texas to Albert A Mechler Sr. and Clara Ehlinger Mechler. With the Lord, Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home near Marietta, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 12 days. 

George was raised and attended school in South Texas, outside of San Antonio, in Castroville, Texas. George had been a resident of Marietta, Oklahoma since 1985 having previously lived in the Oklahoma City area. George was a farmer in his early years and later worked for Medina Electric Coop and Temple Inc. He was self- employed for a period of time owning Geothermal Heat Pump Systems. George also worked for Earth Energy Technology & Supply until his retirement in 2011. George always stayed busy boating, hunting, traveling and taking care of his Pecan orchard and yard. He always had the best-looking yard in the neighborhood. He married Mary L. (Barnes) Andrews on July 3, 1986 in San Antonio, Texas. 

George is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in law Dotty Mechler, brothers-in-law Oscar Smith and Wilburn Gooch. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mechler of Marietta; sons, Terry Mechler and wife Donna of New Braunfels, Texas, Ronnie Mechler and wife Michele of Hondo, Texas, David Mechler and wife Laquita of Mico, Texas; step-sons, Shelby Andrews and his wife Tina, Jr. Andrews and his wife Cheryl; brother, Albert Mechler of Yoakum, Texas; sisters, Mary Jane Smith and Ann Gooch of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren and husband Elijah Bolin, Grayson Mechler and fiancé́ Camille Barmore, Garrett Mechler and wife Rebecca, Melissa Hail and husband Tyler, Eric Mechler and wife Kristy, Deshanna Rider and husband Jason, Brian Hill, Mckenna Andrews, Dylan Andrews; great grandchildren, Hudson Hail, Cannon Hail, Weston Hail, Alanna Rider, Payton Lynn Rider, Kylee Rider, Tristyn Rider Alayah Benavidez, Bo Hill, Bear Hill and others. 

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, October 20, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the family home on Allen Road, Marietta, Oklahoma.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:00 am Friday October, 22, 2021 and the Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 am at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville, Texas with Father James Fischler officiating. Entombment will follow at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery with Eric Mechler, Tyler Hail, Brian Hill, Shelby Andrews, Carroll Keller and Jim Persyn serving as pallbearers.  Family and friends are invited for lunch and visitation at the Braden Keller Community Center.
